Wow! This was the best place to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. And finishing off with Italian kisses was an absolute treat. We will definitely be back for the best pizza in town. Thanks for making it so special!

If you’re after good Italian cuisine, this is the place you will want to try. My wife and I visited this establishment and we were both thoroughly satisfied with the service and of course the food. Friendly staff, scrumptious and reasonably priced food, rustic charm ambiance, wine, beer on tap…what more could you ask for?

A very cozy and well-run italian restaurant in the heart of Durban North. The food is absolutely on-point, with generous servings. All the meals were freshly prepared and the prices are good. Try their cocktails out, as they are also lovely! Virgin cocktails available as well!! Well worth the visit and we are definitely going back!!

Lovely Italian food with awesome service! This cozy little restaurant has a very relaxed and authentic Italian atmosphere. As soon as you enter you are welcomed by the friendly staff. The food was absolutely delicious and we were left absolutely stuffed, with a variety of drink options which we always love. Big shout out goes to our awesome waiter Tyron Stewart, who went the extra mile for us. We will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful lazy Sunday lunch at the mad Italian. The pastas are always so divine and the staff are so bubble and welcoming, making you feel right at home. 10/10

A hidden gem for quick bite out, even if you are looking for a good quality T-bone steak. They will surprise you. Our waiter Joumarie was great!

So I am not a pasta lover, but I can assure you that the only pasta I eat is from the mad italian restaurant in Durban North. If you are in Durban North please try out their menu. Especially if you need to get away from it all and just indulge yourself and your family, the owner, his staff are just the best.

Always Awesome at the mad italian, from when you enter the Mad Italian you have an awesome experience. The warm welcome, the friendly waiters, the super awesome Chef and nice manager/Owner. The food was always amazingly delicious. Had a steak this time, never had a steak like that before, cooked to perfection.

This restaurant has the most amazing dishes. Situated in Durban North, easily accessible. The restaurant is absolutely cosy with the most friendliest staff. We were actually served by one of their chef’s Junior…he was incredible with the knowledge of the items on the menu. His suggestions was fantastic, he would describe a dish to you with immense passion and you will immediately be craving it…I promise you, once the dish is infront of you, you can smell and taste each ingredient in it  just as Junior describes it. The food is delicious and the drinks are refreshing

The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. They serve good portions and we sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed the breeze with good music in the background. We had so much fun and I forgot to take pictures.

Based on reviews my family and I decided to give The Mad Italian a visit. A totally unforgettable experience. Cosy atmosphere for any kind of celebration. Music was played at just the right volume (I loved the selection….Sinatra etc). Upon arrival we were welcomed by our waiter Jason. Main: Veg lasagne, Gamberi pasta and the most impressive dish Risotto Michaelangelo. Well worth the wait whilst the dishes were being prepared by the incredible chef whom the owner Craig introduced us to. Thank you Jason for the amazing service. Well done to the owner Craig for taking the time to visit our table and chat with us. I truly appreciate visiting a restaurant that has class from beginning to end. I highly recommend the restaurant to everyone and I hope your experience is as amazing as ours.

The Mad Italian is a true gem! From the moment you step inside, you’re transported to a charming Italian cafe. The food is outstanding – I savored every bite of my filled pasta with spinach and mozzarella. The generous portions and affordable prices are a bonus.
